STEPPING OUT OF LINEAR TIME

What happens when a TaKeTiNa process doesn’t end after two or three hours, but simply continues?
Through the day.
Through the night.
Into the next morning.
And on and on.
For 55 hours, a space of experience unfolds where rhythm, sound, movement, voice, and silence flow into one another.
Following the intense experience of our first 55-hour event, we are opening this space again in May 2027 – this time expanded to include sound.
Alongside the rhythm space, there will be a dedicated sound space featuring traditional Asian gongs and extraordinary sound instruments from around the world.
This allows the journeys of experience to move between two worlds:between rhythm and sound, movement and silence, wakefulness and fatigue.
At the heart of it all lies a question:
What happens when we step out of the familiar order of linear time for a while? When the clock no longer dictates when something begins or when it must end?
If a process continues long enough, familiar structures can become more permeable. The nature of fatigue and alertness shifts, and one’s own experience of time can also change.
It is not a matter of simply enduring it. You can go to your room, sleep, or withdraw at any time. You decide for yourself how deeply you engage with the process. It is precisely this freedom that allows you to experiment with your own boundaries without having to force anything.
At the last 55-hour event, participants shared how special it was for them to fall asleep to the sound of the group singing or the gongs – and later return to a process that had simply continued in the meantime.
We have further developed the format based on these experiences. This time, there will also be ongoing opportunities for exchange and integration.
ZIST offers a unique setting for this. The location has been closely linked to the development of TaKeTiNa for decades. Nature, opportunities for retreat, and organic meals make it possible to largely step out of everyday life for the duration of the event.
A 55-hour TaKeTiNa session is not a marathon. It is an invitation to remain in a process long enough to allow for experiences that often find no room within the normal rhythm of our daily lives.
Familiar boundaries can become more fluid.
The accustomed order of time begins to change.
And perhaps a space opens up within it where, for a moment, time no longer matters.
